HW Jan 30-Feb 2

Grade 4: Mon - S.S. map
Tues-Thurs: writing - take one of your two stories and  rewrite it to make a final copy. Same directions as when you rewrote the fav. day two weeks ago.
Grade 5: finish Shiloh Season and study for S.S. test. A study guide went home.

Grade 4 Mon. after school cancelled. I will be at a writing workshop. Mrs. K

DNA project grade 4

HW week of Jan 23-26

Grade 4: Read and summarize Catwings a chapter a night. The book will be finished by Fri. Please have your child do 2 thirty minute Study Is. sessions for HW  as well. Many of the children need to get caught up.

Grade 5: Shiloh Season read and summarize a chapter a night starting with chapter 11 this week. Also do 2 thirty minute Study Is sessions for HW this week.

HW Jan 17-19

Grade 4 students have written their first personal narrative about a great day at an amusement park. For HW I would like them to rewrite this essay on white paper. The purpose of rewriting it is to improve it. Writing folders should go back and forth to school all week.
Tues: read story to an adult. Show writing folder to your parents and discuss the contents.
Wed: Start copying essay onto white paper. Use writing folder for help.
Thurs: Finish writing your essay onto white paper. Read it again with an adult.

Grade 5: Read and summarize Shiloh Season starting on chapter 8 this week. Finish NIE assignments by Friday. Study the 13 original colonies for the test on Friday. Spelling does count on the test.

HW Jan 9-12

Grade 4: We will continue to work on the maps for the southeast states (one map per night).
Grade 5: Please read and summarize a chapter a night from Shiloh Season
Mon: Chap 4
Tues: Chap 5
Wed: chap 6
Thurs: Chap 7
Friday we will be having a test on the story about Roberto Clemente in our Trophies reading book. Next Friday we will have a S.S. quiz on the 13 original colonies. A completed map will be going home soon. Mrs. K

HW Jan 3-5

Happy New Year everyone!
HW grade 4: I will give a map of the southeast region each night (T, W, Th). We will be having a Social Studies test on Friday on the states and capitals of the southwest region. Your child should have flashcards.Here is a game that will help them on the test:
