Grade 4: An MCAS packet with specific instructions will go home with your child on Mon. It is due completed on Fri.
Grade 5: Read and summarize a chapter a night of The Cay Mon: chap 5, Tues: Chap 6, Wed: chap 7 Thurs: chap 8. We will also be having a spelling bee on Thurs or Fri. I will send home a list of words for your child to study. The winner will represent the class in the Item Spelling Bee in March.

Computer lab fun!

This is the Symbaloo the 4th graders use in the computer lab. It is a bookmarking site helps us navigate the web easily. I frequently add new links that have to do with what we are studying.

We dissected owl pellets in class today. The children went on http://www.kidwings.com/index.htm in the computer lab to do a virtual dissection before they did the real thing. They loved the song from the Youtube video. Mrs. K

Feather girls

The 4th grade girls came in to school on Monday with these adorable new hairdos! I learned later this all came from Mackenzie's birthday party!

HW week of Feb 6-9

Grade 4: New book: Family Under the Bridge please read and summarize a chapter a night.
Grade 5: We are learning about owls and their adaptations. A National Geographic for Kids magazine about owls will be coming home with several worksheets. Please have the children read the article and complete the worksheets on Monday and Tues. On Fri we will be having a quiz on the terms (Chapter 1 only) from a book we are reading about owls in class. I will send it home with them so they can reread chapter one and study the terms on Wed and Thurs. Next week we will be dissecting owl pellets. What fun! Mrs. K
