HW week of Jan 23-26
Grade 4: Read and summarize Catwings a chapter a night. The book will be finished by Fri. Please have your child do 2 thirty minute Study Is. sessions for HW as well. Many of the children need to get caught up.
Grade 5: Shiloh Season read and summarize a chapter a night starting with chapter 11 this week. Also do 2 thirty minute Study Is sessions for HW this week.

HW Jan 17-19
Grade 4 students have written their first personal narrative about a great day at an amusement park. For HW I would like them to rewrite this essay on white paper. The purpose of rewriting it is to improve it. Writing folders should go back and forth to school all week.
Tues: read story to an adult. Show writing folder to your parents and discuss the contents.
Wed: Start copying essay onto white paper. Use writing folder for help.
Thurs: Finish writing your essay onto white paper. Read it again with an adult.
Grade 5: Read and summarize Shiloh Season starting on chapter 8 this week. Finish NIE assignments by Friday. Study the 13 original colonies for the test on Friday. Spelling does count on the test.
