HW for the Thanksgiving week

Grade 4: A National Geographic magazine came home tonight with an article  about animals. Please read and answer the questions on the last page. Tues. night will be the same thing/ different N.G. magazine.
Grade 5: We will continue reading our book...chapter 4 for Mon, and chapter 5 for Tues.
Grade 5 students please bring in something for our sports basket.

HW Nov 18-21

Grade 4: We will be picking a new biography this week. The assignment is the same as last week. It is due on Friday.
Grade 5: We will finish book two of Shiloh on Monday night. On Tuesday a new book will be going home. Please have your child read and summarize a chapter a night. 

HW Nov 12-14

Grade 4: We have finished Skinnybones and will now start reading David Adler biographies for the next two weeks and produce a one page report (3 paragraphs). On Tuesday your child will pick a biography of a famous American. They will read the bio Tuesday night and start the worksheet/brainstorm. On Wed. they will finish the worksheet and begin the report. On Thurs. they will finish the report and do a cover. The cover can be hand drawn or made with pictures off of the computer. We already did a report on Lou Gehrig last week in class. This should be in the save pocket of their binder for you to look over and use as a model.

Grade 5: Continue reading and summarizing the second Shiloh book. On Tues. we will be on chapter 13, Wed chapter 14, Thurs. chapter 15.

Extra help for Reading will be next Monday, Nov 18 2:15-3:00.

HW Nov 4 to 8th

Grade 4: Cont. reading and summarizing Skinnybones. The book should be all done this Friday.
Grade 5: Cont.  reading Shiloh book 2. We are on chapter 11 for Monday.
OTHER INFO: We have library this week and a Veteran's Day program on Friday afternoon.
If your child in on the student council please save your coffee cans for a future fundraiser.
If your child needs extra help in reading please have them stay after school with me on Monday nights.

HW Oct 28-31

Grade 4: We will not be reading Skinnybones this week. The children have a Social Studies test on the N.E. region on Wed. The packet in the binder is the study guide. I will have night back on Monday for 4th graders only to study for the test together. Any 4th grader is welcome. The brochure on a state from the N.E. region is due Friday. It was sent home last Thursday. I am not assigning HW on Halloween, but please make sure your child finishes the brochure so it does not have to be done Halloween night.
Grade 5: Continue with the second Shiloh book. I believe we are on chapter 9 for Monday. No HW on Thursday: Halloween night.

Thursday: Halloween parade starts at 1pm

4th grade project and test

Grade 4: A Social Studies  project (make a brochure about one of the N.E. states ) went home today (Wed). It is due Friday, Nov 1. We will be having a S.S. quiz next Wed. It will be based on the packet/ study guide  in their binders on the N.E. states . They can start studying over the weekend if they want. I will assign studying as HW Monday and Tuesday along with the brochure.. We will have no HW on Thursday night (Halloween) but keep in mind that the brochure is due Friday. Patrick, Molly and Cam have misplaced their study guides. Please have them see me after school and I will make them another copy.
